But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green. They will declare, “The Lord is just! He is my rock! There is no evil in him!” Psalm 92:12-15

It is so fitting that we are celebrating Father’s Day on the same day as our pastor’s 85th birthday. He is certainly a spiritual father in this House. This evening, Pastor Charlie will join a panel of fathers – Jay Hebert, Jim Palmer, and John Reider – to talk about serving God over the long haul of life.

These are men who have flourished in the courts of God longer than most of us have been alive. They are still producing fruit and remain vital and green. If you don’t believe it, just try to keep up with one of them any day of the week!

Maybe you didn’t have a father who demonstrated godly living. Pull up a chair tonight and listen as the fathers speak. Your heart and soul will be blessed. And you can learn how to flourish, too.
